Bettiah: Police on Tuesday unearthed an illegal factory manufacturing fake cement fixer and chemicals at Barwa village under Dhoomnagar panchayat in West Champaran district.
A joint team led by district industries centre general manager Rohit Raj, sub-divisional magistrate Abhijeet Kumar Govinda, and BPRO Vivek Arya, along with police personnel, conducted a raid at the residence of Aneesh Ahmad.
During the operation, officials seized large jars filled with suspected fake chemicals, over five dozen buckets labelled with reputed brand names, a significant number of cartons, and branding stamps used for counterfeit packaging.
“The action was initiated following specific inputs received by the DM regarding the illegal unit,” said Rohit Raj.
A preliminary inquiry revealed that the illegal operation was allegedly being run by Aneesh Ahmad’s son, Ejaz Ahmad alias Sonu. Officials added that adulterated materials were being used to manufacture cement fixer and other chemical products, which were then packaged and sold under fake branding.
Based on a complaint filed by the industries department, an FIR has been registered at Shikarpur police station against both Aneesh Ahmad and his son, Ejaz Ahmad. Shikarpur SHO Jwala Kumar Singh confirmed that the case has been lodged and further investigation is underway.
